Just a guess--possible error in .src package related to where in your tree the GTK package was installed, or possibly the GTK installed soomewhere besides where Sylpheed is looking for it, which might be Mandrake related or might not. I installed 7.1claws from the tarball with no problems whatsoever. I did have to upgrade my GTK+ package (I used cooker, I think) and also had an ispell dependency, if I recall correctly.
