As a last resort you could try to put the swap partition back to it's original size and see if it boots. If that doesn't work (it probably will not) you could try to 'upgrade' your Mandrake install and hope the installer sees (or doesn't) your missing files and makes it complete again. There are many ways you could repair yoyr damaged system but most if them would require more time and trouble than a complete fresh re-install. If you're looking for a steep learning curve, do that!
