Ok... I thought someone was gonna set the record straight long before now.
The SB Audigy does not have built in support in 8.1. There are drivers available for it from the emu10k1 sourceforge webpage, which are experimental at best. They provide basic audio out, but I'm not sure how much more then that they offer. You can install these drivers in 8.1 if you want, however as far as I understand, the audigy driver has been incorporated into the lastest kernels, and should be in the 8.2 distribution. As for the firewire support, SB1394, it will work fine as it is an independant part of board. (IE: not incoporated into the audio processor). If you need more information feel free to ask.
