I've found the best books on shell scripting are the O'Reilly books. 
There is one for bash, csh, korn, etc.  Another book called "Unix Power
Tools" is really good.  I has literally thousands of scripting examples,
and source on cdrom.  That one is an O'Reilly book also.  Rob.
