I have LM8.1 running and the rpm came from the 8.1 CDs! Do you want me to do more trouble shooting before I delete that file? There always was a "plugins" tab because I installed Mozilla (and Netscape) with the 8.1 install; but not "Netscape Pligins" or any of those other buttons/checkboxes you mentioned.
