Dear all, I am having a problem resolving web addresses when connected to my ISP using kppp. Mandrake dials and connects OK to my ISP via the modem. I can see the local and remote IP addresses automatically assigned and can ping these OK. There are entries in resolv.conf for the nameservers, automatically placed. According to the ISP these addresses are correct. However I cannot ping these.
Interestingly when I ping the local and remote IP's (203... range), ping shows my ISP locally assigned IP address as the "from", which should be correct. But when I try to ping any other external IP's, such as the nameserver address, ping shows my from address as being my locally assigned (172...) address for my ethernet card. Obviously something is wrong with my network setup somewhere but I can't find. Iused the KDE Internet/network tools to set it up. I am using Mandrake 8.1 distro straight off the CD's. Any clues ?
