I installed 8.2 twice. The first time the modem worked but my sound card did not work. I reinstalled 8.2. I formated the / directory each time. The second time the modem failed to work. I have a Lucent microelectronics Venus Modem (V90, 56K Flex). I am using KDE. When I try to access the internet I get the message "Modem ready". Followed by "Sorry, the modem doesn't respond". I tried to configure the modem and received the message "I can't configure a "Winmodem". It is not a WinModem. It worked in 8.0, 8.1 and the first installation of 8.2.
Any suggestions before I trash it. Perhaps I can reinstall 8.1. Thanks, Gary
