hi i decided to have a go at setting up samba. things seemed to going well enough until i noticed the linux share no longer showed up on the 2k pc. i checked samba to notice that nmbd was not running, after many attempts it still refuses to run. smbd is running ok but not nmbd does anyone know why this could be ??
ps.. cheerz for the help so far ... after looking at the logs in /var/log/samba/nmbd.log it said " create_subnets: No local interfaces ! [2002/04/25 13:06:30, 0] nmbd/nmbd.c:main(861) ERROR: Failed when creating subnet lists. Exiting." how can there be no local interface when the rest of the network is fine ?? cheerz Dave
