Well John, 
It turns out you are  more or less right, Seems that my long
held settings have been changed without telling me, typical 
freeserve-anytime, or as the local wags like to call it 
fixedprice/lousytime. for it is very expesive and shockingly
hopeless quality of service.
Anyway that has been mail.ispone.net
became                     smtp.isptwo.net
I guess you can tell I send and receive emails on multiple email
addresses via the one ISP as mentioned above,
