erps... sorry to say.. you can do it with kde 2's kmail.... I have the same setup... gotta check pop, before I can send mail... you can find the setting: settings-->configure kmail-->miscellaneous-->folders and check the option: send mail in outbox folder on check this will send mail to mail server immediattly after a pop check....
