I'm using gkrellm's plugins from:
[quini@quinipt quini]$ rpm -qa|grep gkrellm
gkrellm-themes-0.2-1mdk
gkrellm-1.2.8-2mdk
gkrellm-plugins-1.2.8-1mdk
[quini@quinipt quini]$
And sound plugin is working for me... hope that helps ;)
