Hi folks, DC> I will try to 'startx' and tell you what happens. Ok ... all went as usual to the command line. Took 8 minutes for the blue progress bar to reach end and shift to user/password screen. That is way too slow and why I'm considering faulty HD.
Anyway, entered startx and got a load of stuff scroll up screen. Main error message I could make out was fatal server error: no screens found. Then did a dmesg and again only thing I could make out as an error was: /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0: I/O error: dev 08:09 Sector 0 Ideas?
