Never mind folks, I was able to get things working on my own (finally!) .. what I needed to do was to use the format:
smb://<name>:<password>@<domain>/<server>/<queue> and all was well .. not the most secure way to do printing in the domain, but at least it's working .. unless someone can suggest another way of doing the same thing .. thanks to all that offered suggestions!
