Of course that's pure speculation on my part. I have a 300MHz PII with 160MB of and I find kde painfully slow. That's why I tried xfce. Anyway, you prolly wanna look in /var/log/messages. If there are any clues, they're prolly in there. You might also wanna run free and/or top periodically to check your memory usage. HTH. Bill
