I have loaded 8.2 onto a number of systems, some with 64mb of ram,, my test server is a 233mmx system that runs 8.2 fairly well...
I have 7.2 running on a couple of P100's and P120's without issue.. so it should be no great issue to get them going. since 7.1 will run on a 486, you really should have no problems with a P100. if you do, then its a hardware issue of some sort.. can you upgrade the bios?? does the motherboard manufacturer have the last released bios for those boards still available for download? if so, it might be a good idea to flash the bios with the latest. rgds frank -----Original Message----- From: Michael Adams [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, 4 June 2002 2:09 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [newbie] A cheap home network to play with. I couldn't see any cheap ones. Will do another NZ site seach when i get the two P1's up and running. One loads 8.2 with no mouse or segfaults on 7.1. Swapped out the SIMM's and still segfaults on 7.1. I know the other runs 7.1 ok, as i had 7.1 loaded for about a week, until i put W98 on and loaned it to a student. So will retry 8.2 and see if i can defeat the mouse problem sometime this week perhaps. It has 64Megs of RAM now and 8.2 may be happier with that. -- Michael
