I'm surprised to hear you say that. I found ML8.2 to be very usable on old specs PC's providing you turn off as many unused services as possible. 8.0 and 8.1 didn't go anywhere (let alone TODAY.>:o) ) but 8.2 is fine on my Thinkpad 166, 40M ram. It's not a fast booter or loader but once it's on it's way it works quite well. The only distro that gave real speed was Slackware but that's beside the point and another story. A desktop 166, 96Mb even has KDE running (Icewm is default though) at reasonable speed and the P2 128M desktop just had a standard install and does everything the P4 512M can do at a slight speed loss. The only 'hitch' is the install which needs a fair chunck of RAM. On a desktop no problem..just borrow some, but on the laptop's it's starting to get worrying. So probably 8.2 is end of the road for the P1's and Mandrake. Harm
