I seem to remember a problem I had like this in 9.0. IIRC, I either right 
clicked on the desktop and then clicked "refresh desktop" or I may have 
reloaded each of my backgrounds, I have to desktops each with a different 
background.  Sorry I can't remember exactly, the onset of advanced aging has 
led to a bad case of CRS (that and multiple doses of different pain pills 
doesn't help either).
