HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) , dbus and messagebus are just
services running silently in the background. No need to do
anything aside from having them started at boot time.
I simply don't understand why you can't install usbview.rpm, but it
isn't needed anyway. On my 2005 LE I just plug my camera (Olympus)
into whatever USB port is available and a harddrive icon pops up as
a mass storage device. Can't be easier.
