Very interesting, I went and bought a new video card, Mad Dog Nvidia FX 5200 plus, and installed it in the computer I was having problems getting the Nvidia drivers working. The old card was a Nvidia Gforce 400mmx with 64 mg mem. Anyway, I put the new card in, booted with the LE DVD and let it run through an update without selecting anything new. Got to the last screen and checked the video, it was detected correctly, so went on to boot. Lo and behold the Nvidia splash screen popped up and the system went on to a complete boot to the KDE desktop. It works with no lock ups and does a adequate job of games. The other card worked not glitchy or anything, so I wonder if it is a case of not enough card memory or I should check firmware updates on the old card? As I said, very interesting. I have LE 2005 on two comps now and it runs like a thouroghbred. Both using Nvidia cards, one with 128m ram and the other 256m vid ram. Maybe an answer for others with Nvidia driver problems? -- Dennis M. linux user #180842
