I removed the directories .menu .menu-simplified and the file .menu-updates.stamp from my home directory and restarted X and all is well again here. Was able to run menudrake again. It appears to be 3 choices and adminitrators settings. original kde menu all applications menu simplified menu You can try it and see if it helps or not. Mike
