Well at least that is what appears to be happening.
So far......................
When within WindowsMe ( running from my slave hard drive ) and also when running from a livecd ( DSL and PCLinuxOs ) and when running an installed to hard drive version of PCLinuzOs on the same secondary hard drive ) I DO NOT have any of the following issues :
The number pad on my keyboard is un-usable ( and yes, I have tried with
the NumLock key both 'On" and 'Off' ).........
Check your keyboard configuration in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Within MDK10 the keyboard is seen as : Section "Keyboard" Protocol "Standard" XkbModel "pc105" XkbLayout "us_intl" XkbOptions ""
Whereas within PCLOS it is seen as :
Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard1" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "en_US" Option "XkbOptions" ""
And though I change MDK10 to " International " in an attempt to fix things, I do not believe there is much difference here.
compare it with the configuration from PCLOS
Also check the 'keytable' and 'numlock' services are running in drakxservices, and compare the contents of /etc/sysconfig/keyboard with PCLOS
Both exactly the same :
KEYBOARD=us KEYTABLE=us
I can not get the ethernet card ( NIC ) to " talk " to my ADSL router
though the system appears to see the card OK.......
I still think shorewall could be blocking it.
Scrolling anywhere within the system has stopped working..........
Do you mean mouse wheel scrolling, keyboard scrolling, or scrolling with scroll bars?
Sorry, the mouse wheel.
I configure and they work - I reboot and they no longer work even though I have done the fstab and /udev/conf whever stuff.
And I'm sure my USB attempts have been affected likewise.........
Explain?
As root from within a konsole I can mount umount - read and write great. But the user use has died off - did work once.
Stiil I'm not sure if I'm to blame here but the keyboard and scroll and nic things are real.
HTH
derek
Thanks for taking a look, greatly appreciated.
