I'm using xMule right now to get three files. Between the
three, there are no more than 10 sources, but my CPU is at
about 75%. And that's pretty common for xMule.
Can anyone recommend a P2P app that isn't such a CPU glutton?
aMule 2.0.0, newly released.

I installed nicotine, but you have to sign-up or something so
I'll try that another time.
it looks like, but all you have to do is fill
a fantasy user name and password in the settings.
but you can only choose it once for that install/machine.
Nicotine is a community-oriented software,
but their one central server favours who pays 5$/month.
But I also installed aMule, and I
have to say I'm _very_ impressed with the performance compared to
xMule. I have two downloads now with 11 sources total; that
would have choked my machine in xMule, but aMule is using
two-thirds less CPU time!
you can make aMule use less CPU
by adjusting the settings for statistics.
Thanks for the suggestions.
you are most welcome.
kind regards philippe
