As you have already been told, you should not be trying to run cooker packages on a 10.1 system. You would not expect a package designed for Windows XP to run correctly on Windows 3.1 - the same applies to Mandrake/Mandriva. Either update the whole of your system to cooker (NOT recommended for newbies - cooker is a testing system and is likely to be unstable) or stay with 10.1 and use packages designed for 10.1.

The best thing to do is uninstall the cooker version of Thunderbird, then visit http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ to set up urpmi sources for 10.1 if you haven't already done so.

Make sure your 10.1 system is fully updated, and then (as root) use the command

urpmi mozilla-thunderbird

...which will install the correct version of Thunderbird for 10.1.

You should then find Thunderbird on your menus, or you will be able to open it using the command (as user, not root)
