I have winXP (dual boot). I rarely use it, but need it for scanner
and Family Tree. Not using the internet with it - do I need to do the
above to make it secure? Already have some of the stuff like AVG,
Spybot - but haven't kept up with it since using mandriva for most
everything.

I run Windows XP and Windows 2000 on separate hard drives and I do not
use either for web access - with no problems.
The Windows XP has no anti-virus and is used for burning CD's and phone
troubleshooting of customer systems.
Windows is a lot better when its not allowed on line :) (dont tell the
linux folks I aid that)

Okay, that's pretty much what I thought. Actually - I do still
sometimes take photos there, as not getting good print output in
gwenview, but very new to using it.
