Well, it is a question of trying to prove that Linux is not worse than
Windows, a friend of mine claims :-) He knows that is always possible
to use Ghost for 'cloning' a W2k hard drive to another one of the same
size (or even bigger). The idea is to prove that Mdk 9.1 (that should
be newer O.S. than W2000, isn't it?) is also capable to be 'cloned' to
a bigger /than original/ drive with preserving the data. Of course,
after being cloned, the new big drive would be placed as the main
drive and the original may be later used for backup of data or
whatever. In short, the idea is *not* to reinstall anything, but just
to get a 'fresh' copy of existing Win/Lin disk combo on a larger disk.
This would make it hdb -- then do a new install of mandriva 10.1
or ? on hdb.
Ok on Mandriva 10.1 - maybe later. Now it looks that the old drive has
bad sectors and it should be replaced by a new one without much
disturbances.
You wouldnt have to use Ghost on the new drive -- only linux :)

Sorry, didnt understand the real objective.
I wouldnt use Ghost , written for MS products, on any drive with linux
on it.
Ghost has enough problems with Windows. Also I question using it on
Windows,
A clean install of Windows should be done to get the best stability and
a cleaner
regestry.
Linux should not be copied to a larger drive. Much better to do a new
install and
update everything then copy home dir (if you must) .
Linux is better because it is more stable with fewer problems and less
restrictions.
It is not always easier -- in fact it is harder sometimes for the user good.
The right way to do a dual boot drive is to install Windows first then
Mandriva.
It is the recommended way for good reason, it works with fewer problems.
I dont try to prove anything to Windows users -just let them see linux
and decide
for themselves.
