FWIW (and IMO), g-v-m doesn't work as smoothly as magicdev did.
IIRC, the change was made because magicdev wasn't being maintained
by the author(s). Occaisonally I've needed to eject a CD, turn it a
little and re-insert it, wait for the drive light to quit blinking,
before a CD can be read. There's been some updates to all this in
2006.0 (cooker) an g-v-m is beginning to get a little better.
Ok, Tom, I did it !
[EMAIL PROTECTED] nil]# cdparanoia -d /dev/hdb -vB 1- /home/nil/grav/
works
and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] nil]# cdda2wav -device ATA:0,1,0 /home/nil/grav/
also works !
Two heads think better than one !
Thanks !
And I just sent a longwinded reply to your last post that
really only said, 'I dunno' ;)
Thank yourself, you fixed it. While I can't argue with
success, I'm surprised you needed to point cdparanoia to the right
device. I've never needed too, it does it own search. So I'm the
one that learned somethin, thanks!
