quotes) in your "run command" box, and then use su and root password

As you are using dialup, ignore the part that says to use
"urpmi.removemedia -a" - this command will remove your original
installation media, which you do *not* want to do!
ifup ppp0
on command line, response in each case is "could not run the specified
command" .
drakconf does run, but cannot get it to look anywhere but hard disc (I
see the access light flashing) , the installation dvd (I temporarily
connected a dvd burner so as to install mandriva onto a computer without
a dvd drive), or online sources. Not able to get it to look at a usb
key that is holding rpm and tar files.
If you open konqueror as root (use the command 'kdesu konqueror' -
without the quotes - in your run command box and then give the root
password, or open konqueror from the root terminal), you should be able
to copy your rpm files from your USB key to /var/cache/urpmi/rpms and
then use urpmi to install them. You cannot use urpmi to install tar files.
Once you have either wvdial or kppp working, you will need to set up
online sources for urpmi from this site:
