Holy ----!!! (cow)(Toledo) It has been pointed out to me that 'tar' has changed in at least one respect: I don't have to specify -z or -j anymore when untarring. It can now recognize whether it was crunched with gzip or bzip2, and extracts it automatically. Anyone else finding this to be true?
The date on the 'man tar' page is now Feb 2005. How many years has it been since 'tar' last changed? Cameron -- Registered Linux User #388790 http://counter.li.org Closing the Windows in my life
