And I hope someone here can give me some advice. Postfix works great at all
times except whenever I'm running a script to report spam to NANAS and other
abuse addresses. When thats running I get errors such as this:
Jul 3 19:44:23 cpollock postfix/smtp[26098]: 02A2B4341EF: lost connection
with smtpauth.earthlink.net[207.69.189.208] while sending MAIL FROM
Jul 3 19:44:23 cpollock postfix/smtp[26104]: 1EB7D4341F0: lost connection
with smtpauth.earthlink.net[207.69.189.203] while sending MAIL FROM
Jul 3 19:54:43 cpollock postfix/smtp[5211]: C20574341F3: conversation with
smtpauth.earthlink.net[207.69.189.202] timed out while receiving the initial
SMTP greeting
I have this in my master.cf:
relay unix - - y - - smtp
-o smtp_helo_timeout=600
-o smtp_connect_timeout=600
Which from what I've read will wait 600s before a timeout on EL's server and
the same with the smtp connect. I have postfix to send to the server on port
587 and thats been verified. As far as I can tell my resolv.conf is setup
correctly now. This problem 'only' happens whenever I'm sending out these
spam reports. I'm assuming that the msgs are untimately sent though.
Does anyone have a clue as to what I can do to make these go away?
