Someone asked the same question as you on the Expert list, and Vincent Danen replied: This is because cpio wants /sbin/rmt and tar is installed prior to update-alternatives, so /sbin/rmt never exists. New packages are on their way up so if you wait an hour or so then fire up urpmi.update you should be able to get the new packages that resolve this. I think that reply came through a few hours ago, so maybe all will be well if you try again.
