So I did a clean install, totally clean, cause I was dual booting with M$ XP and got ticked cause it had so much of my hard drive and wasn't using it. Wiped out M$ and reformatted, installed with the sourceforge ndiswrapper tar and now everything is working like it should. I have no idea where the conflict was unless it was with the ndiswrapper I was using. Thanks for everyones help. -- Dennis M. linux user #180842
