Of course. To keep your system up to date just use the update GUI in Mandriva Control Centre>Software The first time you use it you will be prompted to choose an update server. Then just run the update GUI once a week to keep up to date. You can read the security advisories from Mandriva on MandrivaClub www.mandrivaclub.com no membership is required to read the advisories. Mandriva do offer a paid for service called 'MandrivaOnline' that will cause an icon in your system tray to turn red if there is a new security update available, and to send you an email reminder, but you do not have to use that service to keep up to date. https://www.mandrivaonline.com/page.php If you like the distribution and want to ensure its continued success you may like to consider joining Mandriva Club. The benefits to you are minor, but it ensures the developers get paid. derek -- www.jennings.homelinux.net http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org
