This may not apply, but when I installed 10.2, I was unable to receive email
using either Kmail or Thunderbird. I did some research, and the package
causing my trouble was hotplug. I do not know why. I ripped the hotplug
package out with Kpackage (ignoring dependencies) and replaced it with the
version from MDK 10.1. Email worked again, but I found I was unable to use my
USB scanner. It was not found. I re-installed hotplug from 10.2. Still no
Scanner detected. I got the hotplug package from an MDV 2006 mirror and
installed it. Now the scanner is detected and works as expected. YMMV :)
