When your message said "/mnt/mnt windows" I didn't take that to mean
/mnt/mnt/windows. This is even stranger. I am nopt sure why the install
disk is trying to mount your Windows partition during an upgrade. I am
not sure what the proper fix would be, but as a work-around so you can
upgrade, change:
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows ntfs umask=0,nls=iso8859-1,ro 0 0
to
# /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows ntfs umask=0,nls=iso8859-1,ro 0 0

This should stop the installer from trying to mount the Windows
partition. After you are done with the upgrade, remove the "# " so the
mount works again. The "# " comments out the line, so it is ignored. You
do not have to have the space after #, but it makes the change stand out
more.
