Hi Y'all.

I have got a digital camera, with built in mp3 player.

The Camera basically tells the PC that it's a USB mass storage device, and on a previous install of 10.1OE, all I had to do, was to plug it in, and the computer would automatically create a device, and mount it, so I could access the files via Konqueror or a similar file manager. The computer would show the camera as /dev/hdd/.

I then upgraded to 2K5LE, and couldnt get anything from the camera. No device name or mount point, and I couldnt even make a new device, as it just wouldnt show. The camera IS showing in Harddrake & USBview.

I have just gone back to 10.1OE in the hope that it would solve the problem, but I have the same problem again!

Is there a package I need to install for a USB mass storage device or similar?

The camera is working ok, as I have just booted into my Windows partition, and taken photos from it.

Suggestions please!

Many thanks,

James

James - Just to be thorough here, did you make sure that your camera was in 'Play' mode once you had connected it to the USB port on your system? If it's still in the normal mode, none of your efforts will have an effect.

Check that before you start hacking your system.

Of course, if you already thought of this, then go ahead and hack away.
