Hi Anne, I brought this up on the expert list.
I can no longer get my camera to work (Minolta Dimage Z5) or my SD memory card reader. They have been messing around a lot with hot plug. I am just installing the latest cooker snapshot to see whether its been fixed yet. Sorry I can't offer any help as nobody responded to me.
