I recommend using both: Audacity to record the sound source and gramofile to clean up and split the wav file into tracks.

I'll get started on this as soon as my 15-year-old nephew quits calling me to figure out the problems/errors he's having with Windows. I keep telling him: that's the problem, right there!! But he's an avid PC gamer and Linux just isn't for him-----YET. I'm still workin' on him.
