urpmi.update -a && urpmi --auto-select --auto
Set that up for once a day and let it do it's thing once you have set the online sources. That keeps your system up to date every single day and saves you from having to do it daily.

Thanks, Hawkwind & Stephen. Unfortunately I'm too busy with a lot
of other things right now, so - frankly - I'm too scared to play
around with cooker as I assume it's rather time-consuming. Guess
I'll have to wait until the repositories for 2006 come up. In the
meantime I can try to install packages individually, as needed.
