Rosemary, I too am having problems trying to install the SoS Xfce. Looks like 
dependency hell to me. I have added the SoS Xfce source, and I have never had 
any version of Xfce installed on this Mandriva 2005 system.
Just wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one to have such trouble.
I thought I would give Xfce another look. I tried it several versions back, and 
couldn't quite get the hang of it.
Thus far, the SoS version hasn't changed my opinion. ;-)

Thanks for that, as I was beginning to feel pretty stupid. However I was in #mandriva today when they realised it was a package problem. Probably get it sorted tomorrow by the sound of it. I've liked what I used so far - 4.2, and now have 4.2.2 on my debian box which looks smart, but haven't had time to fiddle yet.
