I just did a installation in another computer of version 10.1
Powerpack. The computer is of a fairly recent vintage. After
installing and getting the modem configured I attempted to get the
updates via a mirror. Instead I got the following message.
UPDATE
"I can't find a suitable mirror. There are many reasons for this
problem. The most frequent is the case when the architecture of
your processor is not supported by Mandrake official updates."
Does this mean that the problem is with the computer hardware? I set
the BIOS to the default values with the virus detection feature
disabled.
I believe the processor is AMD

The problem is that the installer has the Mandrake URL instead of the
Mandriva URL. With the name change came a change ow the domain name.
Your best bet it to go to http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and follow the
instructions there to set up your urpmi sources.

An article was (finally) posted two days ago (Sept 14) on the Mandriva
home page pointing to here:

This _should_ aim your 10.1 PowerPack update at the proper sites. I'm
going to try it tomorrow on my secondary machine which still runs 10.1
PowerPack.
I don't know why Mandriva aribtrarily dropped all of the old addresses
that were hard-wired into current products and then waited two months
before supplying a fix.
