I honestly don't know.  Printing to a remote printer coupled by usb to 
another Mandriva box is simplicity itself, but in the case of a ethernet 
print-server, which is (I think?) what you are talking about is probably 
completely different.  In the first case the printer driver lives on the 
box that the printer is attached to.  I don't know how you manage the 
driver for an ethernet print-server.  If you are a club member you could 
try the knowledgebase pages on the club website - there's a lot of old but 
still relevant info there about cups.
