There's the Autotools book available at http://sources.redhat.com/autobook/
which you can download at http://sources.redhat.com/autobook/download.html
which covers off automake, autoconf and libtool. You can also get the Make
Manual at http://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/make.html, and a book on
CVS at http://cvsbook.red-bean.com/ (among others).

Hmmm, Google just found me a new resource at
http://www.freeprogrammingresources.com/, lots of links to free books under
there.
