Hello,

Can someone help me out with a few questions regarding CUPS. I have a home network consisting of five PCs. A mixture of Windows XP/98 and two running LE2005. One of the XP machines has a printer directly connected, both of the Linux machines have a directly connected printer each. Should I be running a single version of CUPS on one of the Linux boxes or do I run CUPS on both and do the two CUPS servers talk to each other?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

You should be running CUPS on each Linux machine. If you have are sharing printers, CUPS on one machine will talk to CUPS on another machine to send print jobs, report status, etc. (Unless you are running your security set too high - then the firewall will block this.)
