I have used Gramps myself and found it very good. As for HTML editors personally I use Quanta Plus and have no complaints with it, and there is also Bluefish and Nvu (which many people like) The fact is that the number of Windows applications that work flawlessly under Wine is not very large, and if you want to run Linux as your operating system with Windows applications under Wine be prepared for them to be "broke".
