Just a word about the *upload* setting : Of course you know
it, but maybe other newbies find it confusing. The *upload*
setting is in KB/s (KiloBytes/sec) whereas most ISP's announce
their upstream bandwidth in Kb/s (KiloBits/sec). So in order
to get the correct setting, you must divide the Kb/s with 8 to
get it in KB/s. For example, if your upstream bandwidth is
512Kb/s = 64 KB/s. 80% of that = 51.2 KB/s = best upload
ratio (but it doesn't hurt to experiment a little in order to
get the best download).

Well stated Kaj....it's an isue I keep have to telling people. ;-)
Just for the info: Almost 80% done dloading the DVD at the max speed my ISP
allows (120Kby/s but it's free, as in beer) .... I'm getting the best speeds
I've ever had on bittorrent, most of them (highest rates) coming
from .nl, .dk and .fr. :-)
Strange thing: I see the whole world but no Belgians ......does anyone see .be
adresses?
BTW: I use "etherape" to see where and what's connecting.
No Belgians here either (why should they bother, they have the
world's finest beer)...
Just out of curiosity, Harm : do you get something from
87.48.71.79 - and if yes, how fast ?
