I have never used a usb device on my box until now. I have just pluged a flash disc and I'm cluless about where to look for it.

I checked on hardware and I thinks is tha 'sda' device for which I follow the path given on the MCC description. After following /dev/scsi/..../ I get to a folder with three links: disk, generic and part1 but when I click on them konqueror ask me about how to open it and I have no idea.

Thnx.

Look in the /mnt directory. There should be a mount point there for your flash disk. The exact name depends on the disk itself. Mandriva 2005LE and later try to give it a meaningfull name. If all else fails, it will probably end up mounted as /mnt/removable or /mnt/camera. If you run the mount command, it will list what is mounted where. You can probably run "mount | grep /dev/sda" to get just that mount point.

You normaly do not want to try and open files in the /dev directory tree, especialy with Konqueror. These are the files the system uses to talk to the actual hardware. You want to access the file system, and for that the device is usualy mounted. The most common place for removable devices to be mounted is a directory off the /mnt directory.

Just for your information, with USB storage devices, /dev/sda will be the entire drive. You will usualy have at least one partition. IN your case, the data is on /dev/sda1.
