Just plain KDE. I boot my computer and have the `home` and `device'

Previous installations also show my hdd and its partitions but not
this time.

My 2006 install shows the hdd partitions, cdrom, Local Network, Network Services and Samba Shares in that folder.

when i click on the devices icon, i never know what it is going to show.
it rarely shows all of the hard drives, and sometimes only shows local net, network, and samba shares. i have also noticed that sometime if i click on the cdrom icon, i get a message the the kde media manager isn't running, but then if i try to start it, it is already running. I have sometimes been able to access things with nautilus, when the media manager was not runnning.
puzzled.
