I actually use the web interface for Earthlink which I assumed was a normal 72 character wrap - I do this because I receive about 1,000 emails a week from the various lists, one of which I am list admin and owner, and this prevents me from having to download messages to my local computer and tie up HDD resources (sadly my wife's Redmond box - she won't let me dual boot it). Also, unknown on how to change "from" field. I do have Thunderbird as my main email client, so I would be happy to fire that up should I post to the list again - and that IS wrapped at 72 characters. Love the "List Nazi" comment though, gonna have to remember that one. :-) And yes, have always had a good time on this list - even despite some of the ill placed notes, it has been very useful and of course my main distro interest is M... and I am sure it will stay that way for some time. Can hardly wait to get my 2006 disc from Europe - which leads me to this question Joe - you are obviously the list admin, so what are your three favorite things about 2006, and what are your three worst liked things about it? I am hesitant to change the subject line to reflect this question, but last time I did I learned about something called "subject hijacking" or something like that and promised not to do it again. :-) Gosh, that means I have been reprimanded for two out of two posts - 100% consistency, is that a record? No biggie, but couple of things about posting to the list (c'mon, I haven't been list-nazi in ages!). Keep your line wrap down around 80, easier to read for all, esp people who use console mail clients. Also, unset your reply-to if you can, that way people won't inadvertantly reply only to you instead of the list.
