I checked the syslog.  Yesterday there were about a dozen of these events, 
apparently randomly distributed through the day.
In syslog, each starts with a line
Bad page state at prep_new_page (in process <process>, page <page>)
followed by some debugging (?) information, and then ends with the line about 
rebooting required.  Most of the events referred to different processes, but 
there were some duplications.
Any thoughts?
