The weird thing (sorry that I forgot to mention that) is that burning
data cd's with k3b or commandline works perfectly fine. It's apparently
just the audio-cd part that is having the hick-ups. Perhaps the philips
cd-rw80 discs are not made for it.

I have the problem with 4 discs that come from a box that has been
closed until yesterday, it never was in direct sunlight either.

I shall try burning an audio cd with a plextor rewritable, see if that
helps any. (I want to use rewritables since that is so convenient for in
the car. :-)

Also I am convinced it has to do with the discs themselves. I tried the
audio burn process on the Plextor cd-rewriter as well as the new cd/dvd
rewriter. Both yield the same results with working data cd's and 'no
disc' audio cd's.

Thanks for the ideas.
Paul
